Some Gingerly Cheer – Santa at the Ginger Factory
As December began and preparations were being made, Santa stepped out of his house and took a deep breath of cold, North Pole air. “It’s too ruddy cold, I’m off to the Sunshine Coast! – On Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen! On Comet, Cupid, Dunder and Blitzen! Hurry up Rudolph, the plane is boarding!” Or at least that’s how I tell it … Yes, Santa is coming to the Sunshine Coast from the 6th to the 24th of December to holiday at Yandina’s Ginger Factory before the big night. He’ll be making appearances for all the little ones every Tuesday to Saturday for those final three weeks before Christmas, with plenty of activities and live entertainment for the whole family.
Every morning he’ll be catching some sun from 9:30am under the Garden Gazebo, while reading his favourite stories for anyone who wants to listen. Following his stories, the big red belly fellow will be taking a break to feed his reindeer, and probably snag a quick power nap, before appearing again for photos from 10am until 1:30pm. Join the elves in making your very own gingerbread Christmas trees and gingerbread men at the famous ice creamery, all the while surrounded by a fantastic and whimsical winter wonderland. It really is a fantastic experience for the kids – keeping the faith alive, and gives parents a welcome break in such a hectic time of the year, allowing us to get some unique Ginger Factory products to stuff stockings with. Of course, all the usual Factory activities will be continuing their fun. Moreton, the 115 year old cane train the factory is so renowned for will be available for rides – ‘Go overboard!’ with the Gingerbread Man on a fun filled, watery adventure around the world, or take an informative tour and learn about the history of the factory and of ginger itself, as well as all the processes their products go through to make all your favourite gingery treats.
Christmas truly is a magical time of year, especially with young children. The pure joy this time of year can bring is utterly indescribable, and made only so much better by the opportunity to be given gifts. Spoil yourself, and add a little magic to your kid’s Christmas this year at the Ginger Factory from December 6th until December 24th with a little bit of Chris Cringle magic, and a dash of gingery spice.
