Every Dog Has Its Day – Top Dog Film Festival 2019
Man’s best friend truly is the four legged furry mutt we affectionately know as the humble ‘Doggo’. For most of human history Fido and his pals have been by our side as companions, tools, and family members – always there to chase away threats, and lick the tears from our cheeks. There really is no bond like a boy and his dog. One particular event seeks to celebrate this very special bond with a yearly film festival dedicated to Man’s best friend – The Top Dog Film Festival this August 10th.
The Top Dog Film Festival was launched in 2017 to showcase the incredible bond between dogs and their people through independent films. Touring annually the Top Dog Film Festival screens over 2 hours of the most inspirational, heartwarming and entertaining films related to dogs and their human companions from independent filmmakers around the globe. Including a carefully curated selection of films of varying lengths and styles covering topics relevant to dogs and dog lovers. From working dogs, to service dogs, to dogs that go on adventures you or I could only dream of – the full width and breath of the bond between the human race and dogs is celebrated.
The Festival still has some time before it begins its worldwide tour – so the line up of films is still to be decided – meaning that any of you budding filmographers out there who have a pup they want to celebrate, here’s your chance. All films MUST (obviously) relate directly to dogs, and be under 40 minutes in length. Genre-wise, you can go pretty crazy, with categories such as ‘Dog-umentary’, Narrative, Humour, Animated, and Adventure Dogs. For more information on submitting your films, visit the festival’s FilmFreeway webpage here.
This incredible event will be hosted by The J in Noosa Heads, beginning at 3pm and running till just after 5:15pm that evening. The two hour event will leave you with a greater appreciation not only for man’s bond with dog – but the incredible strength, determination, compassion and kindness to be found in a canine’s heart.
For tickets and more information on the event in its lead up, visit the official festival website here.
