A Rare Summiting – Cooroy Mountain Spring Festival 2019
Cooroy Mountain is one of the Sunshine Coast’s most exclusive mountain climbs. Usually only accessible through private property, the mountain is open to the public one day a year – during the Cooroy Mountain Spring Festival. This August 18th, from 6:30am till 3pm, Cooroy Mountain Spring Water will be opening access to the Cooroy Rotary club run Cooroy Mountain Spring Festival, and all of its visitors.
Big on nature walks, mountain climbing, or just doing your part for charity? Then the Cooroy Mountain Spring Festival is the place to be. For just $10pp entry (Children under 12 free), enjoy food, stalls, an entertainment center for the kids, live music, and free access to this rarely scaled earthly giant for the entire day – not to mention it’s breathtaking rainforest surrounds. If, by chance, you’re not the excercise type, there’s an alternative that will give you a birds eye view that is beyond compare. For $55 you’ll be able to take a scenic helicopter tour of the area and look down on the ‘ants’ down below as they swarm over the slopes of Mount Cooroy.
As previously stated, all profits from the event will be going towards a good cause. Thanks to last year’s event, Cooroy Rotary club was able to raise $30,000 for various charitable organisations around the coast – including the Cooroy SES, the Black Mountain Rural Fire Brigade, and the Queensland Drought Appeal. Last year raised the bar, and this year’s event is set to be bigger and better than before – with some big shoes to fill!
For more information about the event itself, visit the official webpage on the official Cooroy Rotary club’s website, here and I’ll see you at the summit.
