A Spring Festival… As you have never experienced it before!
Packed with live music, great food, rides, massive tug of wars, an up and coming talent quest, fashion parade, and loads more… come the 9th of August Fruehlingfest is the one place on the Sunshine Coast you will definitely want to be.
A fun filled annual event, Fruehlingfest allows host the Immanuel Lutheran College to showcase its school, student and the work they achieve within the greater community.
Fruehlingfest began on the Sunshine Coast in 1981, and over its 33 years the success, fun and excitement it has generated has seen it grow in popularity to evolve from a traditional school festival come fete into an mainstream event not to be missed.
What is a spring fair without some colourful rides to swing or bounce you up and down? This year Fruehlingsfest 2014 will bring back some old favourites but introduce some new surprises. From toddlers to teenagers or just for the young at heart, there will a ride for everyone. You can zoom down the giant slide, scale the rock wall, hoon around on the dodgem cars, spin in the tea cups, bounce on the jumping castle, or just head down to sideshow alley.
For those of us with a family you can buy an armband for unlimited access to all rides all day. It’s $30 online, or $35 bought on the day.
However this year Fruehlingfest has a lot more in store for those lucky enough to live on the Sunshine Coast; the aromas of international food stalls, the opportunity to add exclusive fashion to our wardrobes, fascinating and creative market stalls and some massive live on-stage entertainment in FruehlingsQuest.
FruehlingsQuest is a search for the biggest, best and just plain hidden talent on among our Sunshine Coast youth. If you think you have what it takes you too can enter the Fruehlingsfest talent quest for a chance to be seen, have fun or win cash prizes.
Entry is open to anyone aged between 5 and 18 years old, with the competition running in two divisions: 5 to 12 year olds and 13 to 18 year olds. The winner in both divisions will win $500 cash, with the runners-up receiving a $250 cash prize.
Two different heats are available for auditions: 2nd and 3rd of August 2014 in the Immanuel Lutheran College Junior School Hall. Entry fee only $10. Entries close 27 July 2014.
Of course if you want to see the final, you will have to go to Fruehlingsfest Spring Fair on 9 August 2014.
It would also appear that the Sunshine Coast is home to some of the most interesting and generous individuals and businesses in Australia. As this year dozens of bighearted members of the community have contributed of a wide variety of goods and services for the Fruehlingsfest Auction. Everything from small toys to large furniture packages and family getaways are all up for grabs at a fraction of the price you would expect to pay.
You’ll need to keep the whole day free, because there will be plenty to do.
Get wet, work your muscles or enjoy an adrenalin surge in activities like the water fight, tug-of-war or some of the other exciting rides on offer. Prefer for a more chilled out day? Then just take a troll through the market stalls, have a laugh in sideshow-alley or grab a cuppa and a slice of fresh Pavlova and while away your time simply watching the fun.
You can grab a bargain at the auction, check out the latest trends and styles at the fashion parade, or view the best of the Sunshine Coast’s up-and-coming talent at FruehlingsQuest.
No matter if you are young or old, adventurous or relaxed, Fruehlingsfest has something for you. And in return you will be helping Immanuel Lutheran College raise some much needed for their students and school
