Fact #1: This year’s lineup is amazing

Over the years the festival has boasted some seriously talented artists including The Living End (2012), Empire of the Sun (2011), Paul Kelly (2010), Blue King Brown (2009), Tripod (2008) and  Jimmy Barnes (2007).

The 2013 Festival has the most star-studded lineup the Festival has ever seen, with something to appeal to every musical taste. Just a few of the highlights include Xavier Rudd, Boy and Bear, The Screaming Jets, Alex Lloyd and Donovan Frankenreiter.   Most of the year, you would be hard-pressed to find artists of this caliber on the Sunshine Coast doing solo shows, so to have them all under one roof is certainly an exciting prospect for live music lovers.

Fact #2: You can camp

What better way to make the most of the festival experience, than to purchase a Festival Camping pass!   This ticketing option ususally sells out very quickly, and for very good reason.  A Camping Pass just makes things so simple and stress free – since the festival is just a short stroll from your temporary nylon home (i.e. your tent), and without the fuss of driving or parking.   A highly recommended option for those looking to make the most of the festival’s frivolities.

Fact #3: It’s kid friendly

There’s not too many festivals around these days that any conscientious parent can confidently take their children.    The good news is, the Caloundra Music Festival is actually designed and promoted as a family event, and children of any age are welcome to attend.  Separate to the main stage, The Funky Forest has been set up as an area for families to hang out, and includes activities such as face painting, craft workshop and jumping castles to keep the kiddies smiling.

Fact #4: It’s BYO…but not as you know it

The 2013 Festival is BYO – but we are not referring to alcohol (although yes, that can be purchased from bars scattered throughout the festival).  This year the Caloundra Music Festival will be free of disposable plastic water bottles, in fact, the sale of bottled water is actually banned.  All attendees this year should bring along their own re-usable water bottles, which can be filled with fresh clean water at any of the filling stations scattered across the festival site.  We think the BYO Water Bottle initiative is a fantastic way of reducing the environmental impact that large festivals often cause.
